Abstract :
Using a 20 Gbit/s, 100 km-spacing, 1000 km straight-line transmission system, the robustness of soliton transmission systems to signal wavelength and repeater output power variation was experimentally investigated for the first time. The results show that the system can survive over 4 nm signal wavelength drift, more than 2 dB signal level reduction and more than 3 dB single repeater output failure
