  • Abstract
Traditional engineering contractors of large-scale turnkey systems are anything but fair and constructive towards their subcontractors. Rather, the trend today is to try to boost their own margin at the expense of the other party or to keep losses low. Both sides have good reasons for acting this way. An engineering contractor that collaborates with its subcontractors gains a sustained, competitive edge. The authors focus on the assumption that the collaboration between engineering contractors and subcontractors is advantageous for a long-term strategic basis
