Abstract :
By modifying a recently proposed approach, the effect of nonmonotonicity on the intermodulation performance of A/D converters has been analyzed. A real staircase model is used for A/D converter transfer function with one or more missing codes. Series expressions are obtained for the output spectra of the A/D converter excited by multicarrier input signal with arbitrary carrier amplitudes. The special case of two equal-amplitude carriers is considered in detail, and the effect of the position of the missing code on the intermodulation performance is investigated.
