Abstract :
A summary of the quality controls performed on the 185 four-gap Multi-Wire Proportional Chambers (MWPC) produced at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati to equip the Muon System of the LHCb experiment is reported in this paper. The results of a set of tests, designed and realized to check the wire pitch and mechanical tension before the assembly and to measure the performance of the chambers, are reported and illustrated in details. All the chambers, but one which has problems of gas tightness, show the quality required by the experiment
