Abstract :
The 11 papers in this special issue focus on adaptive, spectrum agile and cognitive wireless networks. Some of the topics covered include: fundamental performance aspects of spectrum sharing; spectrum sensing capabilities in cognitive radios; detection and estimation approaches to spectrum sharing; MAC design in opportunistic spectrum access; and competitive spectrum sharing and resource allocation using concepts from game theory and pricing.
