Abstract :
The performance of noncoherent reception in direct-sequence spread-spectrum communications over specular multipath fading channels is investigated. Analytical and numerical results on the average probability of error are presented for direct-sequence spread-spectrum systems employing binary or

-ary frequency-shift-keying modulation with noncoherent demodulation and differential phase-shift-keying modulation with differentially coherent demodulation.
