Abstract :
By the end of 2007, there were 29 million subscribers to services supplied by FTTx equipment, and by 2012, it is expected the number will grow to over 100 million subscribers. In this paper, we review the current status of FTTx and analyze what is taking place in different regions of the world. We view the future for FTTx in terms of growth and the types of FTTx products we might see.
