Abstract :
Sensors Plug&Play technology, as defined by the IEEE 1451.4 smart sensor standard, has introduced significant improvements in sensor measurement accuracy, ease-of-use, and asset management. As the test and measurement industry continues to adopt and implement Sensors Plug&Play technology, more and more users experience many benefits of plug-and-play measurement systems. The introduction of Virtual TEDS files gives legacy sensor users the ability to take advantage of these benefits free, via the Web. From improved system set-up and asset management to increased accuracy, the Sensors Plug&Play revolution is simplifying sensor measurements and decreasing the overall cost of data acquisition
