Abstract :
The authors describe mechanisms currently used to introduce conditional access into all-digital TV or radio broadcast signals. They describe the general architecture of an access conditional system, point out its specific requirements, and stress the synchronization problems between the scrambler and the descramblers. The general architecture can be used in any access control system, even when the bit-rate available is very limited
