Abstract :
The transmission of video programming signal (VPS) and program delivery control (PDC) signals is discussed in the context of video cassette recorder (VCR) control. VCR control is a new development in the use of broadcast teletext data services. It is now possible to perform selection of the program to be recorded and real-time switching using information contained in broadcast transmissions. The design of a dual-standard monolithic decoder is outlined. Two new devices based on the design are described, one for simple manually programmed VCR, the other for full teletext programming
