Abstract :
Two new algorithms, the moving area detection algorithm and the scanning line conversion algorithm, used in the MUSE 525 line progressive scan converter are described. The moving area detection algorithm is required to reduce the aliasing component. Scanning line conversion from 1125 2:1 interlace scanning format to 525 progressive scanning format is important because the characteristics of this conversion filter have a great deal of influence on the picture quality. A simple hardware structure for a higher picture quality system has been achieved by the scanning line conversion algorithm
