Abstract :
A low-noise downconverter for 22 GHz DBS (direct broadcasting satellite) reception has been developed for future wideband HDTV. Only low-cost, packaged components that are already marketed for 12 GHz DBS have been used, and the design is compatible with existing mass-production assembly techniques. A prototype has been fabricated and a noise figure of only 1.7 dB measured
