Abstract :
Parasitic-free measurements of the position-dependent intensity and frequency modulation responses of DFB lasers are presented. Good agreement between experiment and theoretical simulations is obtained for both the magnitude and phase. The results are important for realising lasers with reduced chirp or improved modulation efficiency
