Abstract :
In this paper we first describe applications of the streaming current generated on a cylindrical electrode, then we analyzed the fundamental aspect of the phenomenon. In a theoretical study we compute the temporal development of the space charge density in a liquid in contact with an electrode under an electric field. Then the space charge density convected in a film of liquid streaming down on a such electrode is calculated. In a second part of this study we describe the equipment and the experimental results obtained with two different liquids. The comparison between experiments and theoretical data is discussed.
