            Abstract :
An EDTV (extended definition TV) system implemented by the scan-line video processor (SVP), which is a general-purpose video processor for real-time video applications, is described. All the functions-motion detection, motion adaptive Y/C separation, contour compensation, chroma killer (ACK), and motion adaptive progressive scan conversion-were implemented by programming the SVP for the NTSC standard video signal
