Abstract :
Magnetically induced superresolution (MSR) technology expands the readout resolution limit of the optical disk system. A MSR-by-RAD (rear aperture detection) disk, was used to demonstrate a crosstalk level of less than -44 dB at a track pitch of 0.8 μm and a carrier-to-noise ratio of 45 dB at a mark length of 0.4 μm. The results show the feasibility of a magneto-optical disk system with a recording capacity six times larger than that of the current ISO disk system
