Abstract :
The paper evaluates telecommunication system functional reliability, based on average failure rates, and formulates operational reliability that also takes into consideration the duration of breakdowns and the time necessary for their repair. Various system arrangements are considered. Optimum maintenance methods are determined from operational reliability and, using the inventory-method, expected revenue losses are formulated for the different systems.
