Abstract :
A novel linearized optical modulator circuit with cascaded dual Mach-Zehnder interferometers has been theoretically analyzed. In this scheme, the electrical RF modulation power requirement and the modulated optical power output can be optimized at the same time. A greater than 20 dB reduction of third-order intermodulation distortion has been achieved in experiments
