Abstract :
Full analytical expressions for the input impedance and radiation fields of the elliptic patch antenna are developed using the cavity model Green´s function, where the double series Green´s function of the elliptic disk is reported for the first time. These expressions can handle any mode of operation and eccentricity of the elliptic disk. The performance of the elliptic patch antenna is then investigated as a function of eccentricity, focal length and feed position. The resulting theoretical predictions show good agreement with experiment
