Abstract :
A technique for reducing the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbols is considered. By extending the method of selected mapping, we achieve PAPR reduction and significant bit error rate improvement. A set of distinct sequences are generated from the data using a modified repeat accumulate code. The sequence with the lowest PAPR is selected for transmission. Using iterative decoding at the receiver, the original data is recovered without prior knowledge of which sequence was selected.
