Microwaves for Intelligent Mobility [President´s Column]

Most of us in the microwave community have been focusing on the hot trending new applications that will demand our attention???fifth generation, the Internet of Things, and, of course, mobile phones. In this month???s column, I would like to describe the efforts of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) to show our emerging contributions to the automotive platform. In April 2015, the IEEE MTT-S launched the first International Conference on Microwaves for Intelligent Mobility (ICMIM), which is initiated by the IEEE MTT-S, sponsored by the IEEE, and cosponsored by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, the European Microwave Association, and the Information Technology Society within the Verband der Elektrotechnik, Elektronik, und Informationstechnik.
