Abstract
A mock-up communication system has been installed between Westford, Mass., and Winston-Salem, N. C., providing a 640-mile path as a test circuit to measure performance of a 24channel UHF-SSB system. The equipment is described, the theoretical performance of the system is given, and the performance of the system as to voice quality and signal-to-noise ratio in a telephone channel and simulated teletype error count is shown.
