Abstract :
Extensive ground-based and air-based measurements of the three-dimensional power line carrier (PLC) field radiating from various transmission limes and transformer stations were performed. The measurements were conducted in two frequency ranges: below 200 kHz and above 470 kHz. Results of preliminary tests on the susceptibility of one automatic direction finding receiver are also presented. Comparisons are made of the measurements with those made by others. An algorithm is presented to assist in converting ground-based measurements into a predicted field at any point around a PLC line
