Abstract :
Experiments with direct measurements of internal voltages inside an aluminum-stabilized superconductor used for the helical coils of the Large Helical Device have been performed with the specially prepared model coil. The experiments demonstrated the presence of a transverse voltage when a normal zone passes through a measured cross-section. We showed that the measured transverse voltages coincide with the calculated Hall voltages. This is the first experimental proof of the existence of Hall voltages during a quench process inside the helical coils superconductor. These data are important to estimate the magnetoresistivity and analyze the cryogenic stability of superconductors with multi-metal stabilizers.
