Abstract :
The magnetic field intensity of a flexible quadrature coil system for magnetic resonance imaging is modeled and simulated. The calculated signal to noise ratio of the coil system is verified experimentally using a coil constructed with the model´s dimensions. It is found that flexing the coil over a thirty degree range preserves the high signal to noise ratio and increases the clinical utility of such a system
