  • Abstract
Working on multimedia and e-learning areas, you might have heard about the Berkeley MPEG-1 Tools, the Berkeley multimedia, interfaces, and graphics (MIG) seminar/lecture Webcasting system, or the open mash streaming media toolkit. All these achievements were produced from the group led by Larry Rowe. In this issue, we invite Rowe to introduce his latest low-cost system on automated presentation capture, which covers both the technology and the process. In particular, he shares with us some valuable thoughts on improving the quality of the captured material, the process from capture to postproduction, the system usability (such as the user-friendly interface), and the media streaming protocols to support playback
