Abstract :
In this paper, a "long" atmospheric pressure N2 dielectric-barrier-discharge afterglow is presented. It is a rather spectacular experiment obtained when the (under high gas flow) discharge effluents are channeled in long tubes of small diameter. The snapshots of the long afterglow are shown in pure N2 and N2-Ar afterglows. The luminosity of the afterglow denotes that active species created during the discharge can be transported in long distances, which could be useful in a variety of applications.
