Abstract :
We propose a subband sinusoidal (SS) synthesis algorithm for fast additive synthesis of time-varying sinusoids. The algorithm is based on a subband sinusoidal method which links a narrow band of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) with a sinusoidal representation, facilitating direct access to sinusoidal parameters within the DFT framework. This enables the development of the proposed sinusoid synthesizer that exhibits accuracy close to direct sinusoidal modelling synthesis and efficiency comparable to conventional overlap-add with fast Fourier transforms.
