Abstract :
A novel all-optical cross-correlation method is applied to measure the timing jitter of a 40 Gbit/s data stream propagating in a dispersion-managed soliton recirculating loop based on Raman amplifiers for distances up to 7000 km. The results are in reasonable agreement with the electronic timing jitter analysis of the demultiplexed 10 Gbit/s signal
