Abstract :
A novel photodetector with wavemeter capability in the near infrared is demonstrated. The device is an InGaAsP/InGaAs double heterostructure operating as two back-to-back photodiodes with different spectral responses. This prototype is able to determine monochromatic-light wavelengths with an accuracy of ±40 pm around 1.55 μm and a sensitivity of about 0.14 μA/nm
