Abstract :
We study the stability of diluted samples of Fe3O4 ferrofluid under the action of gravitational field, uniform magnetic field and gradient magnetic field. The dilution was carried out by adding carrier liquid to the ratio (40:1) to the undiluted sample which has a concentration (packing fraction) ε0=0.154. The samples under study were prepared from the diluted sample and adding oleic acid by volume (0%, 4%, 14%, 20%, 30% and 40%). The results show that at 12% oleic acid ratio the samples have the better stability at all fields under study
