Abstract :
Static levitation forces and stiffnesses in superconducting bearing consulting of concentric ring magnets and a superconducting YBaCuO ring are investigated, in the field-cooled mode a levitation force of 20 N has been achieved. The axial and radial stiffnesses have values of 15 N/mm and 10 N/mm, respectively. An arrangement with two hearings supporting a high speed shaft is now under development
