Abstract :
We observed a propagating femtosecond light pulse train generated from the integrated array illuminator as a form of frameless motion picture based on the light-in-flight recording by holography using a 130-fs laser pulse. The integrated array illuminator is an optical device to generate an ultrahigh-repetition-rate light pulse train from a light pulse. We found that the reconstructed image of the propagating pulses in the motion picture is different from the true propagating pulses in shape and velocity. We analyzed the inclination angle and the apparent propagation velocity of the pulse in the reconstructed image. The simulation results of the angle and the velocity based on the analysis almost agree with the results of experiment, so that the validity of the analysis was verified.
