Abstract
Many types of noise can be present in an image. In this letter, a closure noise that is well known in perceptual organization of psychology is introduced. The degraded paint character containing the closure noise is used in the experiment. An iterative approach using the disk expansion scheme, with a decision process on the boundary of a region containing the same disk information is developed for the removal of closure noise. Results obtained by relaxation and morphology methods are also given for comparison.<>
