Abstract :
The thrust of multipolar disk solenoids is evaluated by a finite element method (FEM) and the dynamic operation is analyzed by using simultaneous equations for the mechanical and electrical system. The calculated values agree well with the experimental ones. The multipolar solenoid excitation increases the thrust and the colenoid excitation yields a fast response
