Abstract :
The effects of tensile stress on the magnetization properties of negative magnetostriction constant amorphous wires have been investigated. The magnetization change due to tensile stress is completely reversible and shows no hysteresis. Stress insensitive region appears at low magnetic field for (Co0.94Fe0.0672.5Si12.5B15) wire, but at high magnetic field for Co72.5Si12.5B 15 wire. These properties are explained well from the calculation of the induced anisotropy energy due to tensile stress
