Abstract :
An acoustic field enhancement implementation for stereo sound sources is proposed for dedicated embedded systems. With the use of an embedded DSP-based platform, our distinctive algorithm successfully constructs a signal processing filter structure to enhance the 3D acoustic field through both stereo headphones and stereo speakers. Since this algorithm is implemented by a 16 bit fixed-point DSP with a computational cost of about 50 MIPS and a small amount of memory, high-fidelity spatial acoustics can be achieved in various applications, such as portable stereo players, music streaming to mobile devices, etc.
