Abstract :
Cogeneration is an old technique whose modern application meets the need to use fuel resources more efficiently. The use of cogeneration plants in parallel with utility service grids at the point of utilization is examined. The application and characteristics of modern controls and protection techniques are discussed as they apply to cogeneration.
