Abstract :
To reduce four-wave-mixing crosstalk in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) lightwave systems, an algebraic algorithm for finding the frequency locations of unequal-spaced channels is reported. This algebraic approach allows certain classes of `optimum´ channel locations to be obtained much faster than when using the recently reported computer exhaustive search
