Abstract
Arbitrary dynamic magnetostriction under alternating and rotating field is measured by using a two-dimensional magnetic measurement technique with a three-axial strain gage, which provides its output in a direction inclined 45° 90°, and 135° to the rolling direction of a sample sheet. By this technique the arbitrary dynamic magnetostriction is expressed by a strain tensor. That is, the elements of the tensor can be compared with the measured magnetostriction in each direction. Therefore, the magnetostriction in an arbitrary direction under alternating and rotating field excitation can be obtained from the tensor expression
