Abstract :
A mathematical analysis is presented for a system of two parallel plane electrodes, electrically insulated from each other and consisting of one conductive electrode maintained at ground potential and the other electrode made out of resistive material and connected so as to enable the establishment of a potential difference between two opposite edges. The results found through a finite element technique show that the electrical field lines between the two parallel electrodes are all curved towards the decreasing potential. Patents have been applied for and industrial applications of the system are envisaged.
