Abstract
A new optical ATM switch is proposed in which cells from individual input channels are time multiplexed by bit-interleaving. Compared to an earlier counterpart that used a cell-interleave time multiplexing scheme. The proposed switch has a much simpler structure, which significantly reduces hardware complexity.
