Abstract :
A pair of new generalized coupled-mode equations that describes the switching dynamics of optical pulses in two nonidentical parallel waveguides, with consideration of dispersive properties of the coupling coefficient, is presented. We have investigated the characteristics of intermodal dispersion between the two cores with different radius ratios and analyzed the effect of intermodal dispersion on the switching dynamics.
