Abstract :
A novel scheme for generation of a 40 Gbit/s binary polarisation shift keying signal based on a LiNbO3 Mach-Zehnder modulator is proposed. The signal is successfully transmitted over 50 km standard singlemode fibre with 0.6 dB penalty.
