Abstract :
A technique for photonic digital-to-analogue converter is presented based on weighting and summing high-speed, modelocked laser pulses. The fundamental concept builds on the basic electronic digital-to-analogue converter implementation. A one gigasample-per-second converter with two bits of resolution demonstrates the principle of operation
