Abstract :
The authors present a filter designed to flatten the gain of an EDFA system over a 30 nm bandwidth. The filter consists of cascaded couplers and delays, and is fabricated with planar silica waveguides. The design is based on Fourier expansion, and our approach is generally applicable to other complex filters and other waveguide structures
