Abstract :
The wavelength translation of an AM-VSB video signal by a gain-saturated semiconductor laser-amplifier is reported. In experiments CNR degradation caused by translation gave power penalties of 4.5 to 7.5 dB, over the carrier frequency range 50 to 1050 MHz
