Abstract :
Many modern surface acoustic wave resonators consist of two grating reflectors with a reflective transducer in between. It is shown that this behaves as a single resonant cavity, in which the transducer reflections give rise to a frequency-dependent variation of the cavity length. A simple approximate formula for the resonator admittance is deduced.
