Abstract :
A method for accurate nonreflective event locating measurement is described. This technique is based on the comparison between the OTDR displayed and the calculated backscattering traces over an appropriate temporal window. A correlation function between both traces allows determination of the location of the nonreflective event, whatever its associated attenuation value
