Abstract
Biaxially oriented polypropylene laminated paper (OPPL), composed of biaxially oriented polypropylene and kraft paper, has superior electrical and mechanical properties. 275 kV OPPL oil-filled cable has already been installed and OPPL POF (pipe type oil filled) cable is under development. By using OPPL, the insulation thickness can be reduced by 3 mm. Therefore, the conductor size of the POF cable can be increased without any change of cable core diameter, which makes it possible to increase the transmission capacity of the POF cable within a limited pipe size
